Huge Folding Stock Anchor Circa 1830

  • Price: $11,000 USD

          Statement piece!

          This anchor dates to 1830 – 1860

  • This behemoth was pulled from the Atlantic by a Chincoteague shrimp boat. It was found in the vicinity of the Juno wreck, although it’s not quite old enough to have been from the Juno.

Like most of these old beasts, it came up without it’s stock. Replacement was fabbed from 4″ hot rolled steel pipe.

The shank measures 10′ 6″ long and it is 76″ across the flukes. Has a 9′ stock and weighs 2500 pounds.

It has been professionally preserved and is rock solid.

It’s the perfect piece for a marina, bar, restaurant, or a private collection.

This thing is an attention getter.

People can’t help but stop and take pictures and ask about it.

Don’t worry about the logistics. Delivery is available.

You only regret the things you DON’T buy!

  • This is a large folding stock anchor. It was pulled up by a shrimp boat near the approach to Blackbeard’s creek. It’s big, beautiful and makes quite a statement. It’s been out of the water for 20 years and is very solid. You probably didn’t notice, but one side of the stock didn’t survive and was replaced with a length of pipe long ago. It matches nicely. The anchor displays very well with some crustacean and a length of original chain still attached.

It’s a head turner and would attract attention in front of your bar restaurant, or private collection.

It dates from 1850 to 1880.
