Description:
This
vessel is a 95 steel ex U.S. Navy torpedo retriever which has been converted
by its present owner into an utility/fishing vessel. Several of the void spaces aft have been foamed for insulation,
otherwise the configuration has been relatively unchanged since its Navy
use. The lower deck is divided into
five watertight compartments arranged with a forepeak/chain locker and
collision bulkhead at the bow. The
forward crew head follows but has been deactivated and is currently used for
storage. Next aft is the general crew
berthing with eight upper/lower bunks along the sides. A passageway leading aft has a head with shower
to stbd. Followed by the engineers cabin with two bunks. Across to port is the capts cabin with
double berth and small desk. Stairs
behind lead up to the man deck. An
emergency escape hatch is located at the forward end of the berthing space in the
deactivated head. The engine room is
next aft with mains arranged in tandem into compound vee-drive gearboxes on
each side. The two generators and all
starting batteries are in the center.
Tankage and pumps are arranged around the perimeter of the space. The crew mess and galley are amidships. Voids and the steering gear/lazarette follow
at the stern.
