During the last two years, the owner of the vessel has enjoyed living on board and cruising in various parts of the Atlantic. A 1998 voyage from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Bermuda was completed in 74 hours in winter seas. The return voyage in the Spring of 1999 to Saint John, New Brunswick took well under 70 hours.

In March 2000, the vessel left Canada to be on expedition in South America. The vessel is continuing this expedition cruise in the Caribbean.

We would emphasize a number of things about this ship:

The mid-life refit was truly complete.

Basically, they stripped the ship of all but the hull and engines, then rebuilt her. This included:

  • all electrical wiring and service panels;
  • all piping, valves and sea boxes;
  • complete new superstructure (aluminum) from boat deck upward;
  • installation of Prime Moving Control centers;
  • Siemens power management & Cat. gen sets;
  • complete stainless steel galley and walk-in cold room/freezer;
  • windlass, anchors & cables;
  • all new accommodations;
  • fire doors; watertight doors; etc.

Engines were overhauled in 1997-1998 and there are enough spare parts on board to rebuild 1.5 engines!
