          38’ x 10’ x 40” Steel Cabin Cruiser/Work Boat

Built by “Goodreau Boats” Tilbury, Ontario (in late 60’s)

Powered by 6-354 NA Perkins with Velvet Drive gear

Two 60 gal fuel tanks with clean out plates

New 1 ˝” shaft, new cutlass bearing, new packing gland

          Four blade 20” x 17” x 1 ˝”prop – in new condition

          New Morse controls

          Depth Sounder, Compass

Toilet, sink, 20 gal holding tank

          Includes several bilge pumps

Boat is near completion  and would take very little time to complete.

Here is what the boat needs to be put back into service:

The shaft has to be lined up and struts have to be welded in place.  The area around the stern tube/packing gland would have to be closed to finalize water tight integrity.

The rudder stock has been redone with flange plates to mate onto rudder with 4 bolts.  A new packing gland (supplied) has to be bolted to the pipe from the hull.

A new skeg has to be made and welded to the keep with a seat allowed for the rudder.

Steering is manual.  There is an old steering box welded at the stern.  A fabricated shaft (5/8”) runs from it, forward to under the steering station.  It is mounted with 2 bearings.  On this shaft the sprocket (new, supplied) is mounted with set screws and the chain (new and supplied) runs down to the long shaft from the gear where there is another sprocket (new and supplied).  Some sort of tensioner would have to be incorporated to keep the chain taut, but the system works well.  The wheel (decorative wood, authentic marine style) would attach to the stainless shaft (keyway cut into the shaft) at the helm with a brass nut.

Both fuel tanks have been reconditions with inspection covers cut out and fabricated to ease the cleaning of them.  These would have to be installed and piped accordingly along with filter assembly (supplied)

The deck from inside the cabin to aft would have to be installed.  Transverse framing would need to be welded, then covered with material of choice – steel or wood.

The aft end of cabin could be left open or closed in with material of choice, wood or steel.  The cabin could be extended in size according to owner’s preference.  Also the interior of cabin would need to be either painted or customized to owner’s preference.

The forward area below consists of a port side double settee that drops into a double bunk.  There are shelving and a closet for storage.  The head (stbd. side) has a sink and manual toilet connected to a 20 gal holding tank.  A new pump out pipe and air vent would have to be installed according to owner’s preference.

There are 2 vee berth bunks in the focsle with drawers under for storage.

The fresh water tank (20 – 30 gallons) is underneath one setee. (12 volt water pump included)

The galley was on the main deck prior to owner removing some of the main cabin.  Included is a 3 burner propane stove with oven. A propane/electric fridge and single sink.  The galley could be located in the main deck cabin or changes made below, whichever the new owner would prefer.

The owner will run the engine to demonstrate how well it runs.

Also included is new bilge pump, some new lights, rope, anchor, some paint, various pieces of deck hardward, new Morse controls, new unused zincs. Also some steel left over to complete hull.  Some of the chine may have to be replaced and the owner has 2 pcs already bent into shape, ready to fit and weld.

Present owner does not have time to complete this project. If someone can weld, loves boats, they can be cruising real soon in a strong, well built boat.
