This barge is perfect for a fixed base or mobile dive, salvage, treasure hunting, and or construction operation. There is plenty of room for offices, equipment storage, fabrication, and repair facilities. This barge has all the amenities; power generation, living/sleeping quarters, heads, galley, food storage, refrigeration/freezers, machine shop, welding shop, dive and shop air compressors with storage tanks, scuba tank refilling station, and re-compression chamber. Everything needed and then some for any operation to be completely self-sufficient.
This Dive Barge is more than Just a Barge. It is a Floating Warehouse, Restaurant, Hotel, Home, Machine Shop, Welding Fabrication Shop, and Dive Business all in one Barge.
This Ex-Navy barge has been inactive for the past 7 or 8 years and is in very good condition and could be easily put into service. With exterior sandblasting, paint, a little work it would be like new.
To really appreciate construction, condition, and possibilities this barge has to be seen.
The Dive Salvage Tender was designed for Navy dive training and salvage/rescue operations with the ability to accommodate 8 officers, a crew of 100, and 2000 tons of cargo. The ocean style double-walled steel hull is 26o-feet at the waterline with 48-foot beam. The bow is model ship style raised 19 feet (light) above the waterline and the stern is raked with 2 skeggs for stable towing.
The upper deck has 6-large watertight cargo hatches with double door cargo/equipment access on the port and starboard sides for easy accommodations in loading equipment, cargo, and personnel. The main deck has walkways and railings with a number of watertight doors for access to all areas of the barge. All mechanical systems have been updated over the years and all systems were drained and closed up when the barge was made inactive. Most equipment has less than 600 hours and some as little as 15 hours.
